Konflikt 47 Defiance Preview Pack
Although I always liked the models of the Bolt Action series and the system, I could not really get attached to the game for a while, due to it’s real historical background. However, when the Bersaglieri for Konflikt 47 appeared in June 2018, my interest was aroused. Konflikt 47 offers enough fiction to successfully bring Bolt Action into a Pulp setting without sacrificing the existing range of models. Since painted minis are an important atmosphere driver for me, I was of course interested in the quality of the models and the Defiance Preview Pack was for 7.5£ a good way to take a better look at the K47 Italians.
I was pleasantly surprised by the delivery of the Clampack, which included two flyers with a percentage offer reduced from the original price, as well as a note which made clear that a real person had prepared the shipment and packed the Clampack - that gave the whole thing a very personal touch and I instantly felt welcome as a customer.
The first look at the models reveals that the Italians of the Allies come with five parts (backpack, arms, head, body), while the Mussoliniloyalists get along with three parts (body and two arms).
It is a bit tricky to snap the parts out of their casting mounts, as the fine barrels of the weapons, in particular, can bend very easy.
For the legionnaire, scraping off the moldlines and the construction was quite simple, as there were only a few ridges on the model which were in nicely reachable places. The Bersaglieri, on the other hand, was a harder nut to crack. One of the burrs went over the front and on the inside of the rear standing leg. Without sandpaper you won’t be able to reach them well and will remain visible.
Due to the slightly embedded recess at the shoulders, the arms can be positiones a little more freely. I did not pin them for starters, because the metal glue in the recess has enough room to crystallize and hold the arm, but with future models, I'll probably resort to well-tried measures, just to be sure. Nothing is more annoying than a miniature that falls apart after a well executed paintjob.
All in all, I am satisfied. Although I think 7.5£ for two minis is a bit expensive, the castings have a very good, sharp quality and there are only a few moldlines on the other hand. For someone like me who likes to paint, taking a look before buying more models is worth a lot. A small downer, however, remains with the moldlines on the Bersaglieri, as they are not as nicely hidden as on the Centurion. With the wear oft he production mold, these are likely to become more apparent with each production run.
At the end of the assembly I was certainly convinced – I’ll get myself a small troop of Allied Italians and introduce them here gradually in project form. Following the upcoming weeks I`ll make some snapshots for a size comparison and ponder a little about the composition of my forces, so stay tuned.

Thanks for the review. How do the Konflikt 47 figures scale with the Bolt Action figures?

The Konflikt 47 range unfortunately is incoherent, some are larger 32mm, others 28mm true scale. But most are taller and less overdrawn compared to the regular BA range.
