Outlook 2019 – The hobbywhip for the boss
While Dennis summarized 2018 in his annual review quite smoothly, I‘ll take a look into the glass orb for 2019 and do what a true hobbyist can do best: make plans and try to do everythin possible that they turn out differently! Accordingly my main point on the list of good intentions for the new year is to stick to my plan!
First of all, there is a warband for Age of Sigmar: Skirmish, of which I have already finished two models and where the progress on the rest is nearing completion.
Afterwards I‘ll take on Dreadball for a while, as Mantic Games was so kind to provide us wit the second edition starter box, as well as two more new PVC teams. Hobbywise there will be more stuff in this department as well, because of course I want to have at least the teams of the starter box painted - and that from both editions, the first and the second.
Blood Bowl – Skycastle Titans Part 4
The moment I thought, "Okay, now I'll just be playing with the team", the painting contest thetacklezone.net grabbed my attention. The site is still fresh and has the option to find tournaments and leagues for Blood Bowl as well as an artwork section where you can take a look at some beautifully painted teams and also the five winners of the painting competition.
I didn't think that I would actually place on the podium, but that's how Bunkerboss Dennis actually got a new Dark Elf team, as each winner got one of the new teams, while I myself got the motivation for another game with the Skycastle Titans out of it. I played against the Averland Avengers from Chefoberboss. Jens is particularly known in the German-speaking tabletop community for his YouTube channel, on which there is numerous videos about the hobby.
Blood Bowl – Skycastle Titans Part 3
It's been a while since I introduced and updated the Skycastle Titans team, but I mentioned that actually only one model was left to paint. Now the last Skaven of the team is finally finished the project is completed.
Hard to believe. I started with the team in September 2013 as an Ogerteam and after almost five years(!) I finally ended up with an Underworld team. I think the most exciting thing was basically the journey to this point, because I did not only get to know a lot of nice folks in the hobby and at the gaming table during this time, but I finally fulfilled my goal of having a team with blue as the main color. Although the color scheme is rather unusual for Skaven, I am pleased with the overall result. Also, the decision to accommodate a purple troll has paid off visually.

"Oye ... what is dat?"
"Dunno coach, da troll wanted to eat da little gobbo there and did`t let go."
"Da git is quite big .... O.K. Place our most delicious player near the middleline. We gon’ keepz da troll. "
At the Skycastle Titans' last team presentation (read it HERE), you've probably noticed that some of the team’s players have been missing yet. It`s about time for an update.
In order to maintain motivation when painting a team, it usually makes sense to start with the rather expendable players to reward yourself with the more interesting models. Accordingly, I painted the linerat as the first of the last four psychos…er…players. I chose a helmeted head from a few regiment lefovers of the Skaven and gave the rat an additional shoulder padding, which rounded off the Blood Bowl look nicely.
The troll, on the other hand, was one of the more elaborate conversions - for many years this classic model was languishing in a box, half painted but never finished. Partly out of pity, partly out of a strange fascination to overhaul old models, I stripped it from color and stuck all sorts of plastic parts to it. Retrospectively it occurred to me that he looked a bit like Flavor Flav, a well-known rapper from the 80s.
Blood Bowl Team Introduction – Skycastle Titans
A guest article by Daniel / DinoTitanEdition on his Blood Bowl Underworld Team, the Skycastle Titans.
„Boss! Boss! Da ogres are gon‘!“
„What do you mean ´da ogres are gon´? How iz we suppos’d to play now? And more important – how qill we survive dat?“
„EEEEK…sorry-sorry coach goblin boss – we from clan Rigens coincidence-coincidently heared that. We too want-want to field a team. Why-why not play together?“…
And with this we welcome you to a small team showcase at the Chaosbunker! For more than a year now, the re-release of Blood Bowl has been out now – enough reason take a look at a few team project from the community.
Originally it was my plan to field an ogre team, but as fast as I did progress with the little greenskins, the more difficult it was with the ogres themselves. When I realized that these were still too much of a challenge for me, my old friend Swarley offered me the remains of a Skaven sprue and two stormvermin. The idea for an Underworld team was born and I started to expand the goblins with a few rats.
