Blood Bowl in the Empire
Picking up Dino's Idea on the Blood Bowl team names, I did a bit of fluff crafting with a short list of team names below, that make sense - at least for me - from a Empire fluff point of view.
Realm of Chaos – Hooves and Fur Part II
Having the miniature is the first step, we can put a check on that - Hooves and Fur Part 1! Next on is to go for a paint theme. Usually I'd go on Instagram for that or maybe the according social media groups to look for inspirations, but as we're talking about a retro / oldhammer project, a good ressource are old White Dwarfs or army books.
For that reason I took the army books from multiple editions, 4th Warhammer Armies: Chaos, 5th Realm of Chaos, 6th Beasts of Chaos and 7th Beastmen book out from the archive and went browsing.
Realm of Chaos – Hooves and Fur
For the Realm of Chaos I sorted the miniatures into god-specific warbands. One for each of the four dark gods, covering the chaos champions with the according mark of chaos. But what about the undivided chaos? I thought the Beastmen would be a perfect fit.
Return of Warhammer – The Old World
Games Workshop announced in the midth of november that the Old World of Warhammer would return. And this has created an incredible amount of buzz. So far it has been updated with an insight to the new map of the old world.
And so far, we only know, that it is still a lot of time until it returns. At least two or rather three years from now. The setting has been set into relation with Age of Sigmar, as Horus Heresy is with Warhammer 40.000. Interestingly enough the map adds to that theory, as the different coat of arms seen, could point towards a civil war like crisis, like the Time of Three Emperors. A very fitting comparison to the civil war of 40k.
Blood Bowl humans revisited
After the 2016/17 relaunch of Blood Bowl, I took the time to take a look at the current status of some of my teams and get a feeling what to do next.
As I already have quite a lot of teams and miniatures for the game around, there was no need for the whole new box, so I managed to buy just the pitch along with rules etc. on eBay. I have the 2007 (?) metal team around, but wasn't to happy as I missed a few of the mold lines prior to priming and started out with a too dark colour. So they got the special treatment and I stripped the colours, for a new beginning.
