Blood Bowl – BlitzBowl Ultimate Edition
Blood Bowl has a very special place on this blog. We've covered multiple teams on here, the Mordheim Marauders, Golden Vultures or Morks Maulers and Dino and I even had the chance to give the older versions of this game a try. So, when Games Workshop offered me the chance to cover the Ultimate Edition of Blitz Bowl in a review, I happily agreed.
The Ultimate Edition of Blitz Bowl released this year, updates initial the 2018s release (and later update with a second season in 2020) and basically the third season of the game. Blitz Bowl is meant to be an introduction gameĀ - self enclosed board game - to reach out to new players, therefore it is sold via stores like Barnes & Nobles or Thalia.
Blood Bowl – Mordheim Marauders Part 6
Ladies and Gentlemen, let's get ready to fumble! The first team of the CBL is ready - the Mordheim Marauders are here!
I have prepared a full roster for the Chaos Team, with 16 players, covering 10 beastmen and 4 chaos warriors incl. mutations, as well as two Star Players, using the classic miniatures from the 1994s Chaos All Stars team, released for the 3rd edition of Blood Bowl.

And now it is time for decals! I chose the white numbers from the Nurgle Rotters and grabbed my decal set from Vallejo to get started.
Dino’s July 2022
To say that July was hectic would be the understatement of the year. First of all, I lost my job, then within two weeks I found another, better one. In between, I tried to catch up on all the private stuff that was left behind during that time.
One could think now " That guy doesn't paint at all!". But against all expectations I even managed to paint more than in the previous months. The first mini has set a small milestone with its completion.
Blood Bowl – Mordheim Marauders Part 4
Getting closer to the completion of the first Chaosbunker Blood Bowl League (CBL) franchise, the Mordheim Marauders. And it was time for Groundskeeper Willie to do something about the turf.
Dino’s June 2022
A little more than half a year has passed and finally, FINALLY I received four brushes and three pots of Lahmian Medium from Battlefield Berlin. Sounds strange? But it actually happened.
Somehow I don't seem to have much luck with my orders lately and the matter does leave a sour taste. Since then I have asked what the status is and I was told that there will be a shipping confirmation as soon as the order is on its way. After more than half a year of trust for an open order, I would have expected something like a small thank you, even if it had only been something like a ballpoint pen.
Journey of the Maulers: Meet the Champions
It's finally here, the last game of Mork's Maulers under the 2016 rules also marks the end of the season and what could be more fitting than a game against a legendary team? Games Workshop has made the list of Gouged Eyes from their championship year available for download, and since I already own a painted Gouged Eyes team from third edition (that hasn't seen a gaming table in a while), it fits like a glove that the Maulers play out their true trial against the champion.
Dino’s May 2022
Last month I asked you how the ease of the Covid measures had affected your hobby life and I received some interesting feedback. Overall, I could see from your feedback that the different views on the measures have partly led to a small split in the hobby community, between the more cautious and the less cautious hobbyists. In general, however, the changes have led to more contacts among those who already checked their health status before each visit anyway, and the number of tabletop games in private has increased again.
In my opinion, it is encouraging that we as hobbyists still show enough common sense, where we also pay attention to our fellow man and not only to ourselves. It shows that integrity and consideration are still present and lived in our hobby. Altogether the contacts have strengthened again somewhat - above all however online. During the period of increased precautions, the online community in particular proved to be a strong anchor for us hobbyists, so that most social contacts could be maintained.
In this regard, I also have to say a few words of thanks to the people who are always encouraging me to push my projects further in the Tabletopwelt forum in my thread and my known group of Tabletop Daddies. So I managed to paint the last hoplite for the Corinthians group that was left for Mortal Gods.
Blood Bowl – Mordheim Marauders Part 3
Near completion! I'm very happy to announce this. I made significant progress on the Mordheim Marauders, after the last update mid-February. A second wash on the long fur on the beast men. And let that thoroughly dry.
After that, I added the second highlights to the miniatures, very close to what I did with my Chaos warband.
Blood Bowl – Mordheim Marauders Part 2
You read the introduction of the Mordheim Marauders in the first part, I had them primed and started painting, keeping close to my recipe for Beastmen from the Realm of Chaos Warband.
