Age of Sigmar Stormbringer Magazine 62 to 67
We are coming closer to the end! Last saturday the 12th of 14 Stormbringer shipments by Hachette arrived, containing the magazines 62 to 67, with a broad mixture of content.
The overview on the issues so far can be found over here, along with the detailed unboxings of older shipments as well:
- Stormbringer issues 01 to 03
- Stormbringer issues 04 to 07
- Stormbringer issues 08 to 13
- Stormbringer issues 14 to 19
- Stormbringer issues 20 to 25
- Stormbringer issues 26 to 31
- Stormbringer issues 32 to 37
- Stormbringer issues 38 to 43
- Stormbringer issues 44 to 49
- Stormbringer issues 50 to 55
- Stormbringer issues 56 to 61
In this shipment we receive the fourth and final binder, along with the printed parts in a single block and a single fold-out about basic tactics. The miniatures and paints are bagged individually.
Issue #62, from March 26th, contains two pots of Citadel Layer Paints - White Scar and Sybarite Green.
We know by now, that magazine issues with paints provide negative savings and that is the case here again. The RRP of both paints is 7,20 EUR, compared to the 10,99 EURs the magazine sets us back. However we get some tips on using the Small Layer Brush we received a few issues back along with an overview on what is possible to achieve with the paints and tools we got so far.
In April's '25 first magazine, Issue #63 we receive another Kharadon Overlord character, the Arkanaut Admiral.
For 10,99 EUR we get a 25 EUR RRP character. The Admiral is a single sprue miniature, without any options on a 32mm round base. It's an older sculpt from 2017, but the savings are proper with more than 50% off.
The issue covers no surprises, we get a proper introduction, including lore, instructions and painting. And we get a series of scenarios, Flame and Fury, which is continued in the upcoming issues.
On April 9th, Issue #64 provides us with another character, this time for the Gloomspite Gitz, Skragrott the Loonking.
Just like the Arkanaut Admiral he comes in a single sprue without any options, but on an oval base and with some familiars. His RRP is a bit higher with 34 EUR, creating quite the savings compared to the magazine price.
As you would expect, we get the instructions and painting tutorial on the character, along with war scrolls and further lore on the greenskins of the Realms of Sigmar.
In Issue #65 of April 16th, we get terrain. The Realmscape Guardian Idol is part of this issue.
This is part of the Realmscape terrain range, unfortunately (currently?) out of production and as such a bit difficult to pin a price on it. It was mostly part of different sets and could be bought for around 20-25 EUR on its own via eBay. With that in mind, the 10,99 EUR surely are a proper deal on this kit. And we will get another one a few issues down the road.
In issue 65 we get a lot to read, lore on multiple factions and of course the instructions for building and painting the Guardian Idol.
Issue #66 covers another pair of paints on April 30th.
Two layer paints, Wild Rider Red which is currently out-of-stock and Squig Orange, add up to 7,20 EUR RRP, so we get the usual negative savings on these. The magazine covers more lore, focused on the Realm of Ghyran and some highlighting tutorials, which can be tricky with red.
And the last magazine of this shipment, coming in May is issue #67 with some Stormcast Vanquishers.
The two sprues are half a boxed of 55 EUR RRP. We get 5 miniatures worth 27,50 EUR for 10,99 EUR. Not a bad deal and this is a new unit for the Stormcasts, adding further strength and variation to our Warcry warband.
Inside the magazine you'll find lore, assembly and painting instructions, as well as further input on Flame and Fury.
As mentioned above, there is the fourth and final binder of the collection, providing us with enough space to store all the pages we got so far over the last 14 month.
And we get a preview on the next issues, #68 and #69, showing us a Mega-Boss and more terrain.
Saving on this shipment is a bit low compared to the last ones, as we get six issues of Age of Sigmar Stormbringer that set us back 65,94 EUR (plus another 12 EUR for the premium upgrade) and we got miniatures and paints with a RRP of around 125 EUR. In the UK run of the magazine, they had a Dark Elf Assassin as an optional bonus miniature, but neither in this shipment nor in the next one this will be included.
