March 2025 review
A quarter of 2025 is over. Lets do a recap.
Asmodee Germany sent me these boxes for Marvel Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Shatterpoint. During Adepticon they gave a great update on the roadmap for the two games (have to be honest, the X-Men starter caught my eye), as well as the Outer Rim Outpost terrain kit for Shatterpoint, along with Star Wars Legions (with the strategic token set coming in 2026...).
Thanks to Warhammer Koblenz, where I picked up the last miniature of the month, an Aeldari Fire Dragon. Will come in handy, when I come around to do the oldschool Eldar project for size comparisons. Really nice miniature. Already looking forward to Aprils miniature of the month.
As I intend to return my current printing room setup to its intentional purpose (being the kids bathroom) at the end of summer, I'm strongly pulling through my backlog. While not having the Bretonnians finished, I print the second Warmaster army and went through 3.000 points in about 4 days. I printed further scatter for fantasy and sci-fi settings in the meantime, and am preparing a list of spare parts, that I'll need for my oldhammer projects.
As CONflict is coming closer, I got some help painting from my painting buddy. "Daddy, don't spend that much time on your phone taking pictures, we're here for a purpose ... painting!" it's almost as Dino tipped her off with some phrases to keep me motivated.
In addition to visiting the Bembel Miniature Cup we did a family trip, visiting the GrimmsMärchenReich at Schloss Philippsruhe in Hanau, and took a short stop at Zeppelinheim next to the Berlin Airlift Memorial.
For the upcoming month, we do not have any fixed dates on our schedule, as we won't make it to RedLionCon or Salute, but I am trying to make it to Intermodellbau. Beyond that I am preparing the reviews for April, those will cover some upcoming Games Workshop releases as well as further Stargrave content.
Sadly, the month of March came to a close with the heartbreaking news of Paul Sawyer's passing. As the charity miniature by Warlord Games isn't available anymore, if you want to donate - please do so towards The Brain Tumour Charity, as it was Paul's wish.
