Warhammer 40,000 – Forge World Imperial Sandbag Bunker
In addition to the Taros Underground Entrance I picked up the Imperial Sandbag Bunker a while back. They go for insane prices on eBay, but I managed to get it at a reasonable rate through one of the Bitbox events quite some time ago.
The article code was TR-40K-S-030 and was sold for 20 GBP / 34 EUR when available around 2006. The model was designed by Tim Adcock, who designed the Falcon and first 28mm scale Thunderhawk.
It is a two piece building, with a roughly 14 by 14 cm lower part and a removable roof. Very massive piece with a few details around, like ammo crates and gear.
Here you can see it with some classic Imperial Guardsmen, as you can see it might be difficult to fit in a full squad and even weapon teams on larger bases will have their troubles to fit in. As such it fits better with skirmishes.
Never the less, an interesting piece from back in the day. It is interesting to see, that a lot of these weren't that expensive back then, but the 20% shipping fee and only accepting credit card payment was a bit of gate keeping in the early 2000s - at least for German customers.
There are further pieces from Forge World and Warhammer Forge that I would love to get my hands on. Some of the smaller pieces, like the Fuel Dump or Ammo Dump or larger items, as the Imperial Guard Command Post or the abandoned Chimera, would make a great addition. But I'm not keen to pay that overvalued eBay prices, so I have to be patient and wait for the right moment.

Patience is how to win at eBay! Love seeing these old FW sculpts pop up every now and again 🙂
