Age of Sigmar Warcry – Stormcast Eternals Knight-Vexilor
While the Stormbringer subscription covered some characters for the Stormcast, with still having to be released, it does not cover a bannerman. But this role is so significant, even on skirmish level, that I wanted to add one to my collection.
There are different Knight Vexilor models around, but I like the one from the 2021 3rd edition Age of Sigmar starter set "Dominion". But I don't need the entire box, so I grabbed one from eBay for a few bucks.
Even with the new edition around, you can still find a surplus of the Dominion miniatures around. But as the Vexilor is not on a sprue of his own, but part of a larger sprue, which is still available from Games Workshop directly as a Spearhead for 115 EUR. But it makes absolutely no sense to buy that set, as you can still get the whole Dominion between 130 to 150 EUR and get far more miniatures.
The seller even included the warscroll with the rules. As a push-fit model, it is important to properly clean the miniature, as they don't need glue and are supposed to assemble by friction. But it has the tendency to leave small gaps in the end between the different parts. So I usually cut the pins off and glue the model like any other multipart plastic kit.
This Vexilor pose has not only the modern, leaner armour, but a really nice waving banner. And I even managed to add the first colours. Once again, have to look upon Blood Angels banners for inspiration. But it will most likely cover red, gold and black.
I'll follow up with further introduction and short build reports on the other members of this Stormcast warband.
