Adeptus Titanicus – Legio Astraman Ad Arma Pt. XVI
With the finished bases packed in the boxes, I went off to the paint meetup last year, and this was my project for inbetween the other things to get either into the mood for painting or as a palette cleanser.
I used 3d printed bits and parts from the Civitas Imperialis ruins set, along with spackle and cork, to finish the bases.
From there I went the regular route, adding the texture paste (used the remainder of the Armageddon Dunes and Armageddon Dust, but from now on using Dark Earth by Vallejo) and let it dry properly.
Blocking the main colours, going for a mid-grey for all the non-earth things, and add the various brown and sand tones, including dry-brushing as it ties everything together.
I toyed for the proper colour on the Sons of Horus Falchion super-heavy tank, and used heavy grime and weathering. A quick test, and I'm happy with what I could achieve so far.
The miniatures on top still have to be painted, I got a bit progress through on the paint meetup, but mostly base colours.
I had the files for the name plates done by Versatile Terrain again, but with the round bases, I still have to properly set where the front is, as the positions of the Warhounds and Dire Wolves isn't final, and I want to do that in one batch. When I paint up the last name plates for Legion Astraman, I will add a final layer of Verdigris effect by Army Painter on all of them.
