Adeptus Titanicus – Legio Astraman Ad Arma Pt. XII
Next and final step for the preparations for the Battle for Uulda, were the bases. I bought the name plates for the bases and command terminals from Versatile Terrain, and used their Print your own-service for the initial 7 bases.
I went for the recessed plates with their Gothic (Calson Antique) font, without any further decoration (but most likely will go for some skulls or the eye of horus for the traitors) and chose the following names;
Warhound Titans
- Venator Ferae
- Bellum Lupus
- Ferreus Latrare
Reaver Titans
- Caerulus Iubar
- Meridies Aureum
- Vespera Rubris
Warlord Titan
- Ortus Solis
As written above, I have each name twice, once to add to the bases and once to put them on the command terminals for Adeptus Titanicus. Printing was easy, but I had to do two plates, as my Mono X 4K has a rather small screen and I couldn't fit all at once.
I used my latest toy, the spray stick, with some blue tac to attach the pieces for priming and had to do two runs to cover all of them in black.
Before glueing them to the bases, I gave them a coat of Citadel Base Runelord Brass and a quick wash of Army Painter Green Wash, for some shimmering in a fitting colour for Legio Astraman. But as the contrast was too subtle and I gave it another quick wash with Army Painter Soft Tone.
As my time was running out, I couldn't spend to more time on the command terminal plates and just brushed the trim and painted up the letters. Done is better than perfect, and I'll revisit them once their done.
And here they are the painted maniple for the campaign weekend, three Reaver, three Warhound and a Warlord on a tabletop ready level.
I'm not done with them, but they are painted to a level that I can use them, that I can put them to action. The decals are already ordered from Scumb4g Kustoms, and now have to wait for them to arrive from Japan.
Beyond that I am already working on the remaining models of the Legio Astraman, which are for now a single Warbringer, a single Warmaster und two Direwolves (one plastic kit and one resin kit), with the option for two further Warhounds as I missed the opportunity to magnetise their weapons and have none of the new weapon systems. But as the Warhounds don't fit my play style, and I'd rather go with an allied Knight Household, these are on a long bench.
