Legions Imperialis – Point values of the 1st wave
As this question was asked more often, a quick overview, where you land with the items from the first wave.
A few things up front
- No, the starter set can not be combined into one large legal army as they Primary and Ally army split is 70/30 of points. There is a special formation for quick starter games, that is not meant for matched play.
- You can mix multiple Astartes Legions into one army, as they don't count into the allied contingent if your primary list is Astartes
- The 30% allied contingent count against anything that is not your primary army list. The Aeronautica units of your primary army are usually air support and don't count against the allied contingent.
For the Solar Auxilia you can build a Sub Cohort with a total of 574 points:
HQ - Legate Cmdr 16 Points
Support - Charonite Ogryn (4) - 50 Points
Core Auxilia Las Rifle (4) - 30 Points + Auxiliaries with Flamers (4) - 24 Points
Core Auxilia Las Rifle (4) - 30 Points + Veletari (4) - 24 Points
* Vanguard - Aethon Sentinel (4) - 60 Points
* Battle Tank - Malcador Detachment (2) - 165 Points
* Battle Tank - Leman Russ (4) - 175 Points
Each time you add one of the Solar Auxilia Infantry boxes, this adds 234 points to your army with another legal Sub Cohort formation (or increases the size of your other detachments).
Adding the Baneblade Squadron to this would add 190 points to your army list and enable you to move the two Battle Tank options from the Sub Cohort und create an Armoured Company.
The Legiones Astartes don't come with a legal setup in the starter set, you need to add the Kratos or leave one of the battle tanks (either Predator or Sicaran) out of the mix. A Legion Demi-Company at 442 points.
HQ - Legion Command - 25 Points
Support - Dreadnought Talon (4) - 70 Points
Core - Legion Tactical Detachment (4) - 35 Points
- Legion Terminator (2) - 15 Points
- Missile Hvy Launcher (2) - 15 Points
Core - Legion Tactical Detachment (4) - 35 Points
- Assault Marines (2) - 12 Points
- Plasma Tactical Support (2) - 15 Points
* Battle Tank - Sicaran (2) - 105 Points (using the Heavy Armour slot illegaly)
* Battle Tank - Predator (3) - 115 Points
Each time you add the Legiones Astartes Infantry box to this mix, you add a legal Demi-Company with 222 points to your army.
As for the Kratos Heavy Tank, these are a Heavy Armour option and similar to the Baneblade give you the option to create an Armoured Company with the Predator and Sicarans, and add 260 points to your pool.
The Rhinos are an transport options and add +10 points per vehicle to your army, which means if you can put the entire box to use it will boost your pool with another 100 points. Please note, a core set will not provide you with enough infantry to use all rhinos.
Aeronautica Imperialis (repacks)
These do not count against the allied contingent but can be bought through the formations via the Air Support detachments. Not all of these are repacked as part of the first wave, but you may come across old stock.
- Astartes Thunderhawk Gunship (1 per box) - 150 points
