Adeptus Titanicus – Legio Astraman Ad Arma Pt. VIII
Among the aftermath of the Battle for Uulda I decided to stock up on some further items for Adeptus Titanicus, primarely the two Legio books for the Loyalists and Traitors.
And as these are english publications, they are excluded from the fixed book prices of German publications, so I could save some bucks from ordering these online. As I have quite the extended collection of wargaming books, I think it is a very lazy design to not keep an eye on the backs of the books. The logo is wandering, the titles are as well. With a series that aims for collectors and more mature gamers (along with covering quite a few books) it is a major bummer they didn't pay attention to this. Honestly, with the pricing and all, I expect better.
Mail Order exclusive and not available by independent retailers were the weapon card decks, that I ordered directly through Games Workshop. For what ever reason these were/are not included in whole with the starter sets.
About starter sets, as I was looking into adding 2-3 models to my legios, I went for a discounted starter kit (got it for roughly 90 EUR), as that would supply me with 2 further Reaver Titans (one of each load-out), two more Warhounds and another two Cerastus Lancers.
As I am quite happy with the size and possibilities of my Legio Astraman, but realized that glueing the weapons on the reavers (and only having two reavers) would limit the choices of maniples I could play. So I added one of the Reaver Titans from the starter set to Legio Astraman, but keep the weapons magnetized this time.
In addition, I printed a few reaver arm mounts and carapace weapons for Legio Astraman and Legio Magna, so I would have even further options. Along with some parts for Warlords.
As for Warlord Battle Titans, there's something sinister coming as an Auxiliary choice for Astraman.
The Warlord-Sinister Psi-Titan is based upon the Warlord with Power Claw plastic kit with additional resin pieces (head, Psi-Cannon and a Ciricrux Anima). This is the fourth Warlord Titan that I've build / am building, and I am still amazed by the amount of details and poseability of this kit.
And as I wanted to make the most of it, I researched some Warlord poses and gathered ideas on how to make the most out of my Sinister. But a too dynamic pose wouldn't fit the psi titan, that would be something more fitting for possessed or daemon titans, but more on those later. I have a few pieces from GrimDarkTerrain and thought it would be a nice idea to have him walk down a flight of stairs, so I posed the legs accordingly.
I'll print a new set and build a proper base around it, have the sides crushed and the stairs themself damaged under the sheer weight of the titan. This means I have to setup another plate with base bits for Titanicus, a task my Mono X 4K is pretty able to cover.
