The Rohan settlement returns
Games Workshop just announced, that the Rohan terrain kits will return for christmas, with the huge bundle of the Rohan settlement itself.
The range was originally released at the end of 2019, covering the Rohan House and Rohan Watchtower & Palisade. The settlement was a bundle, covering six houses and two times the palisades for a price of 200 EUR (and was pretty much sold out right away).
I have covered both kits (Rohan House and Rohan Watchtower & Palisade) in reviews in January 2020, and was amazed by the flexibility.
And I gathered some further inspirations and ideas for a Rohan settlement during my visit to Warhammer World, seeing the back then new diorama, partially strongly converting the available parts.
I took that inspiration and turned it into buildings, making the Rohan settlement grow, with a stable and some regular houses.
As this is Lord of the Rings terrain, it is more realistic and not as overdrawn as some of the Warhammer pieces, so it perfectly with some generic fantasy and some not that too accurate historical settings.
And due to its scale and size, you can add a few other kits as well, like the Renedra outhouses, or fences in different variants, along with further some scatter pieces like boxes and barrels.
Renedra even released a nice little Viking house recently, that would fit very well to these, so I have to add 2 of them to this settlement.
As I already have four kits of the buildings and two palisades, I am more or less settled (hur-hur for a settlement...), along with the additional smaller houses. I am tempted to build the closed tower, but that conversion is rather consuming on the parts (it requires two houses and a tower). Yet maybe I add one or two kits for a burned down building along with a high house / smaller tower.
