Adeptus Titanicus – Legio Astraman Ad Arma Part II
A brief update on the summer challenge.
The first block are 6 miniatures, I went with two Reaver Titans and four Cerastus Lancers. After thoroughly cleaning mould lines and gaps before priming most of the models, I started with blocking in the base colours. Starting with Army Painter Gun Metal for the metallic parts of the titans.
As I am going for a desert type base (yet there will be buildings in the desert), I raised the smaller knights with small pieces of plastic card for them to not sink into the later base design.
I had a few green tones sorted out before, and started out with P3 Traitor Green for the armour plates of the Legio Astraman, but wasn't satisfied with the hue as well as the coverage. Due to the black primer I would need something along the line of foundation paints, or lighten up the base colour. So I went online and searching for some ideas.
I even found a brief description on how JarringWharf paints his Legio Astraman, and he uses Citadel's Deathworld Forest as a base colour, so I dropped by my local Warhammer store last week and picked up a pot of it. Much better coverage and perfect for two thin coats. Works like a charme, so now I can continue.
This week is just something else on my mind. Moving from our apartment to our new house. About a third of my collection is already there.
So next steps:
- Priming the Knights
- Blocking in the base colours
I'll keep you posted.
