The Worlds 2014 – Day 2
Saturday, the second day of the Worlds, the action was fully loaded. The last participants arrived and all of the traders had their booth build up. On this day the Warhammer Ancient Battles Tournament started and that's where we want to pick up the coverage.
Gaming began at 9 in the morning, a tight schedule for some of the players, of whom many played 7 games in 3 days.
It was nice to see, that eventhough it was a tournament and many travelled from far away, they had their families with them and had time for some mischief (Look at me! I am an Unicorn!).
As already mentioned, the traders were fully built up and it was really impressive how much they had to offer. Wuerfelmeister had many bargain bins, Magister Militum alone broad 40 (!) trolleys filled with wares with them. Fantasy Warehouse, currently taking care of german translations, had an enourmos amount of Saga, MDF terrain and other historical miniatures with them. Commitatus was a bit of a let down, having recently released Jugula and Saga Crusades, but no demo rounds or special offers. Enyo Miniatures was kind enough to take care of the bring and buy.
Our local gaming club was there, too! The Bad Habitz Club showed some Armies on Parade type displays and a slide show of all the things we have done in the past.
Around 6 p.m. the tournament was closed for the day. A part of the group went for a guided city tour, others went to grab something eat in the near Old Town of Koblenz. After that, around 9 p.m., those who were fit enough, gathered at the Stattstrand. We were lucky, there was live music and decent weather.
That's all for a long and filled saturday. Continued on Sunday.
