Salute 2016 – Part II
After the introduction on Salute, welcome back on Part Two on Tuesday.
As Salute is an international event, there are companies from all over the world and of course from Germany as well. The well known Pirates from Freebooter Miniatures participated once again at the Salute. And of course, no show without some nifty releases - bringing small ships and boats to Freebooters Fate, individually and as a special bundle offer.
From Germany as well, arrived Mechworld.de, and presented Full Thrust in cooperation with Ground Zero Games, as well as the Babylon 5 variant of the game. Make sure to check out their facebook page, as they took a couple of from their journey and impressions of Salute as well.
On the lanes with the gaming tables, there were a couple of really impressive and huge set ups. Like this Battle for Wilhelmsstadt, a fictional part of the Seven Years War, by Bill Gaskin and Friends.
Not only for the Lead Adventure folk, Oshiro Modelterrain by Jim Bibbly, was a must visit. He fixed up the LAF members with badges, offered terrain pieces, and to round it up, even had a solid 6 by 8 ft table with his buildings.
More gaming tables around, showing the miniatures by the surrounding model makers, like Otherworld Miniatures.
Or do you prefer a fancy naval wargame? And some more large scale wargaming.
Osprey Games was there as well, offering their broad range of rule sets, like Frostgrave or Black Ops. A new product by some wargaming veterans is Open Combat, by Second Thunder and with the support of Gav Thorpe.
Italian company Fireforge Games, is currently expanding their range of metal and plastic miniatures with even more affordable resin packs across the whole range.
This nice, splitted table covered the case of "What if Essex had gone to Bristol" and the battle between King Charles I and the Earl of Essex, hosted by Neil Tew (Crewe and Nantwich Wargame Club).
